Beginning with the foundations of psychological modeling of the human mind, the main emphasis is given to parallel and distributed realization of intelligent models for application in reasoning, learning, planning and multi-agent co-ordination problems. The last two chapters provide case studies on human-mood detection and control, and behavioral co-operation of mobile robots. This is the first comprehensive text of its kind, bridging the gap between Cognitive Science and Cognitive Systems Engineering.

Each chapter includes plenty of numerical examples and exercises with sufficient hints, so that the reader can solve the exercises on their own. Computer simulations are also included in most chapters to give a clear idea about the application of the algorithms undertaken in the book. In addition, mathematical analysis on convergence and stability of the neuro-fuzzy models will enable the reader to pursue their research career in cognitive engineering.

If you are in sales this is a must read book

Selling is tough and George puts it all together with this book. It covers everything from how to prepare for each day to closing the tough sale. It is not high pressure but effective selling techniques to close the sale. I used this book to help train my clients and staff and they love it.
George has a fun, positive way to train and motivate. This book covers it all. The best way to use this book is with a highlighter and plenty of bookmarks. Keep it on your desk to use as a constant training book to see how much better you can be.

Master of his trade

This book is a must read if you are someone looking for inspiration and are having troubles getting your goals accomplished. It is a must have for any salesperson weather they are in a slump or not. It equipped me with lots of tools and great reminders on what it takes to close a deal. You can really tell that this man has allot of passion for what he does because it really comes out in his writing. I'm not a big reader, and the way this book is laid out it makes it easy to catch and keep my attention.

Add this one to the top shelf of the toolbox!

Great Book - I Fixed My Cuckoo!!

This is the only cuckoo clock book that I have found that will tell you how to adjust the cuckoo clock music box in easily understood step-by-step instructions. This book covers more movements than Seaman's book, but the text is not clear and the pictures also are not as helpful as I would have liked. Overall, it is a good effort and it does have useful information, it just takes a bit of deciphering on some parts.

From the Author
I've been playing and writing music for a little over 30 years, and producing music for over 25 years.

I took about an eight year hiatus from writing and recording music, and in 2005 began building a new home studio in order to rekindle my love for music. Since then my setup has changed, shifted and evolved as I purchased kit pieces that were incredible and fun to create with, and some that were simply not very good.

Although I had years of experience with electronic music and recording equipment, the technology had changed so much that I found myself spending countless hours researching hardware, recording software and virtual instruments. I'd crawl all over the web, rip through review sites, download manuals and subscribe to trade magazines all in hopes of avoiding wasting hard-earned coin on kit that would only find its way to eBay in a month or two.

So as I've had my share of setup problems to solve, have had to overcome major software and hardware incompatibility challenges, and have found some real gems through it all; I knew I wanted to give back. I wanted to be able to share what I've learned, and hopefully help someone who may be going through what I went through in getting my studio together.

Very Informative Book for Anyone Interested in Music Production

I was looking for a book that would offer a thorough explanation on how to set up my IPAD to record professional sounding music. This book has an entire chapter devoted to the many ways you can use an IPAD in home music production. I was impressed with the eduction it provides to someone with limited knowledge...everything is explained in such detail. Throughout the book are conveniently placed links to the hardware and software as he is describing them to allow the reader to investigate the web sites along the way. I liked this because I was able to investigate my options, then return to the book and continue reading. There is so much current information here that I am sure to save both time and money.

hard genre in which to write a good book

It's probably hard to write a definitive "how to" book for a home studio, given the rapid changes in technology and the different kinds of equipment one can acquire. This (what appears to be self-published) book is competently done, but I was disappointed that it didn't answer my questions -- which I think is a problem of the genre more than a weakness of the author.

Very nice edition

For me as czech person,i can only say - love it. I look specialy on the translation and i can only say,they did a gret job.Left page is all in czech,right page in english.
The ballads i remember from school and its czech clasic,one of best.I will recomend it to anybody,who love ballads.There is also lot of wisdom in it.

Most Useful Foam Roller Book for Legs

I recently purchased two foam rollers: The Lux Fit high density and Trigger Point Performance to help with minor injuries I've been experiencing from running. Out of all the foam roller books on the market, I found this one the most helpful. It deals solely with leg issues, which I find is what the foam rollers are best at targeting. In addition to good exercises for all the muscle groups, the book also has very informative anatomy information about all your leg's muscles, which is great to have. I have posted some pictures of what the book has to offer.

Great for Legs!

I had bought a foam roller because I heard of the great stretching and massage benefits, but it was a little harder to use then I thought. I was having some leg and butt pain and was trying to massage that area. This book goes step by step to use the roller safely and effectively. The illustrations help to determine exactly where the muscles are, so you can target that area. The photos are a great help to perform the exercise correctly with intermediate and advanced exercises. The log is a nice bonus. Overall, a good book to help work out the muscles in your legs and buttock area.

Unlike many histories written regarding the Recapture and Liberation of Guam, this author does not editorialize and has an overabundance of footnotes to support and document his writings. He also introduces the reader to the people who actually fought the war, not just the 'Brass". One weakness in this treatise is a lack of discussion regarding the local population and their efforts to support the war effort.

A very fine history that more Americans should know about. The only problem with Ebook histories is that it is difficult and time consuming to refer back to maps on earlier pages.......and the fact that the maps are not expandable on the device so that seeing the finer print is difficult or impossible.

I stumbled across this book and thought to myself why not give it a go? I'm glad I did. Packed with advices!

One suggestion? Alessandro if you are reading this find native English speaker to read and edit your book for you (maybe use MechanicalTurk). I understand English is not your first language, but book is hard to read at some places because grammar is not good.

Other than that I'm glad I bought this gem!

McCauley (Longman Biographical Directory of Decision-Makers in Russia & the Successor States, Longman, 1993) has compiled hundreds of profiles of individuals active during at least part of the 20th century in territory under Russian control. Not all are ethnically Russian; in fact, they represent most of the republics of the former Soviet Union. In addition to political figures (from all parts of the political spectrum), those profiled come from the worlds of science and engineering, religion, sports, the military, visual and performing arts, and literature. Some individuals were active long before the 1917 revolution. Criteria for inclusion are nowhere stated, but most of the obvious choices are included. Many entries include bibliographic sources complementing the more general works listed in the concluding bibliography, but the lack of any indexes at all makes following a theme around the alphabetical arrangement impossible. Compared with the author's earlier work or Who's Who in Russia and the CIS Republics (LJ 4/1/95), the narrative entries here are longer and also include those no longer living. Epic Catastrophe

Having intensely reviled McCauley's "Bandits, Gangsters and the Mafia: Russia, the Baltic States and the CIS Since 1991," I looked for other books by him and thought he must have written SOME good things. I was wrong.
In this loosely organised collection of miniature biographies, McCauley takes every opportunity to force home his sour prejudice against Russians. To those who use this for reference material, I would strongly advise caution into believing the more emotive terminology selected by McCauley. This publication is vast with much information, but about as objective as a North Korean press release. Use other books to achieve some degree of balance.

A Very Methodical and Informative Book

Frank Fischer's Evaluating Public Policy is a very well researched book that guides the reader through some very difficult concepts very gracefully. Fischer hopes to spell out a comprehensive guide to establishing effective public policy. Unfortunately, in this type of complicated subject, even a seemingly simplistic outline of this process can create difficulties. Fischer understands these problems but does not let them interfere with his methodical explanation and evaluation of a number of policies. He attempts to establish a never fail plan for evaluating various policies. Unfortunately, he undermines any simplicity through his discussion of complicated examples. But the book is a worthwhile read because of these examples that Fischer uses. He never gives a hypothetical situation. Rather, he illustrates all of his concepts with real examples in legislation. This makes the book flow smoothly as story-telling is always a good mix with theorizing. Also, the reader leaves with a solid understanding of policies such as the revitalization of Times Square the Head Start Program. Do not read this book to gain a solid understanding of how to evaluate public policy. Read it instead to understand the dilemmas faced by those who engage in public policy making.

This book flowed well considering that the topic of public policy is always debatable and anything but clear-cut. The examples he provides; such as the Times Square redevelopment project and Project Head Start, even in 2013, are something I could relate too. It helped that he used real-life examples versus hypotheticals. I would recommend reading the book early on in your academic career if its focusing on public policy to gain an understanding about how seemingly clear-cut ideas in public policy are anything but! The theory of policy studies so everyone can understand

This book was the instrumental framework for my dissertation. I read it four years before I began my research and immediately went to this source when I framed the study. It is written in clear, concise language with outstanding examples throughout. Fischer's all encompassing theoretical view cuts through the heirarchical gobbledygook that accompanies most organizations, providing an excellent tool in which to measure the policy implementation process. This book will always be in my library.
